Verteuil-sur-Charente is a Petite Cité de Caractère, a label awarded to certain villages and which aims at preserving remarkable heritage. Verteuil-sur-Charente has a rich history and several monuments well worth visiting. The most popular are the church Saint-Médard and the water mill, both dating from the 12th century.
